Extended cookie policy
In addition to the general privacy policy and the short information banner present on this website, I want to provide you with some information regarding cookies. I remind you that the data controller (hereinafter also simply the «Controller») is Francesco Cappelli, with registered office at Via dei Feltreschi 7, 00164 Rome (RM), Italy, and that at any time you may contact the Controller to request information regarding the processing of your data, by filling in the contact form on the site and specifying in the body of the message the reason for your request, relating to privacy and to the modification of data.
I also remind you that privacy legislation guarantees you certain rights (access, rectification, objection, restriction, erasure, portability, the right not to be subject to automated processing, withdrawal, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority), which you can explore further within the privacy policy of this site, as well as, in full, in Articles 15 et seq. of the GDPR.
1) What cookies are
Cookies are information files that the browser automatically saves on the hard drive of the device the user uses when browsing a site, and they make it possible to collect information on the browsing carried out. Cookies are stored, according to the user’s preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies, such as transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information on the user’s behaviour and on the use of services. Therefore, hereinafter I will refer to cookies and all similar technologies using the term «cookies».
Cookies are defined as «first-party» when they are installed by the site the user is visiting, while they are «third-party» when they are set by a website other than the one the user is visiting.
The use of third-party cookies is governed by the rules established by those third parties and, therefore, to manage or disable them, you will need to consult the privacy policies and the instructions published on the websites of such third parties.
The duration of the cookies installed may be limited to the browsing session or extend for a longer time, even after the user has left the visited site. These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases an expiry is set, in other cases the duration is unlimited. To deactivate, remove or block cookies it is in any case possible to use the browser settings (as will be better specified below) or the DoNotTrack option, where available. In the event of deactivation, the Controller cannot guarantee the full usability of the website.
The Controller does not need the user’s consent for the installation of strictly technical cookies, which takes place automatically upon access to the site. The user may, however, also block or remove technical cookies, by modifying the configuration of the browser options. In that case, I point out that it may then no longer be possible to access certain areas of the website or to use some of the services offered. All cookies other than technical ones are instead installed or activated only following the consent expressed by the user the first time they visit the site. Consent may be expressed by interacting with the short information banner present on the site’s landing page, in the manner indicated in that banner; or it may be given in the manner indicated below. The user always has the possibility to withdraw, in whole or in part, the consent already given.
I keep track of the consent to the installation of cookies expressed through the banner by means of a dedicated technical cookie, so as not to have to display the banner during subsequent visits to the site. Naturally, should the user delete this technical cookie, the record of consent would be lost and, therefore, during the next visit to the site the cookie banner will be displayed again.
2) The types of cookies used by this website
Technical cookies
These cookies are fundamental for the correct functioning of the site and for the use of certain features, without which the services normally offered by the site could be partially or totally inaccessible.
Preference cookies
These are cookies that allow a website to remember information that affects the way the site behaves or looks.
Statistical cookies
Statistical cookies help website owners understand how visitors interact with sites by collecting and transmitting information anonymously.
Social buttons
The site also features the so-called «social buttons», i.e. those «buttons» depicting the icons of social networks (for example Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram) that allow browsing users to interact directly with the social platforms. The social buttons present on the site are links that point to the Controller’s accounts on the depicted social networks. Through the use of such buttons, therefore, no third-party cookies are installed on the site.
Marketing/profiling cookies
Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The purpose is to present advertisements that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and therefore of greater value for third-party publishers and advertisers.
You can consult the list of the individual cookies, the name of the provider, the purpose, the expiry and the type within the short information banner present on the site’s landing page.
3) Provision of data
With the exception of technical cookies strictly necessary for normal browsing, the provision of data is left to the will of the user who decides to browse the site after having read the short information contained in the dedicated banner and to make use of the services that involve the installation of cookies.
The data subject may therefore avoid the installation of cookies other than technical ones by keeping the banner, clicking on «Use only necessary cookies», selecting the «Necessary» box, or through the relevant functions available on their browser.
4) How I protect the user’s data
The Controller adopts physical, electronic and organisational security measures in relation to the collection, storage and disclosure of users’ personal data, also in order to prevent the loss of personal data, unlawful uses and unauthorised access. I remind you, however, that it is good practice for the security of your data to carry out every appropriate check on your device.
5) Disclosure of data
As better explained within the privacy policy, the data collected using cookies could also be disclosed to parties involved in the organisation of the site (such as, for example, personnel authorised by the Controller) or by external personnel (such as third-party technical service providers, hosting providers, IT companies, marketing, legal), who will be appointed from time to time, where necessary, as data processors.
6) Transfer of data outside the EU
Our servers are located within the European Union. In the event of transfers of data to non-EU countries, these will take place in compliance with the applicable legal provisions, in particular pursuant to Chapter V of the GDPR.
7) How to disable cookies
